FAQ

Here are a few common questions. If you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to contact us.

Professional Learning Courses

How do I enrol in a Professional Learning course?

Through the MyPL@Edu online system. Follow the links provided for each course or search MyPL@Edu via the Event ID. NSW Department of Education (DoE) staff can log in with their DoE credentials. Non-DoE staff are most welcome to attend our courses. You will need to sign up for a username and password to enrol via MyPL. For instructions on how to do this please click here. For more information about MyPL for non-DoE participants please click here.

When do your courses run?

MacICT operates on the NSW School Term calendar. Each Term’s calendar of courses is released at the end of the previous Term. Join our Mailing List to keep up to date.

Are your courses accredited with BOSTES?

Many of our courses are registered by the Quality Teaching Coucil (QTC) from The Board of Studies Teaching and Educational Standards NSW (BOSTES). These courses are identified with the QTC logo. If you don’t see this logo on the flyer then the course is not registered and is classified as Teacher Identified Professional Learning. You can find out more about this on the BOSTES website.

How do I arrange payment to attend a course?

As we are a part of the NSW Department of Education, the school that is listed in the MyPL Enrolment system will automatically be direct debited for your participation in a course. If the school listed in MyPL is not the school that should be charged for the course please let us know.

If you are an individual or not from a NSW DoE school, then please list the correct billing address on your enrolment form. In the ‘Authoriser’ section, please put the details of either your manager if your organisation is paying, or yourself if you are paying as an individual. NSW DoE will send you or your organisation an invoice which can be paid via Credit Card or BPay (direct debit).

Excursions

How do I book in an excursion?

We run workshops for classes during NSW School Terms. Some workshops are available only on particular days of the week, so see the flyers for details. If you would like to book your class in please contact us with your preferred dates and number of students.

How many students can I bring?

Our maximum class sizes and capacities are listed on the flyers for each workshop as they may be slightly different for different boot camps. We can usually take a maximum of 2 classes in a day, with a maximum of 30 students each.

What paperwork is involved?

Once you have booked in a date with us, you will be forwarded a booking form to complete. We will send you a risk assessment, permission to publish forms, a few notes on your visit and a map to help you find us.

Who needs to attend with the students?

The school teachers retain duty of care of their students at all times. Teachers are expected to be fully involved in all activities, as well as assist our facilitator in classroom management. For K-2 classes we request a parent helper (or other aide) for every 5 students.
